Dynamic data masking (DDM) is a powerful data-security technique for protecting personal and other sensitive information in databases from unauthorized access. A DDM can be used to mask or obfuscate information in real time, as it is accessed by unauthorized users. This prevents sensitive information from being exposed, while still allowing authorized users to access the data. In current multilayered applications, data masking may be incorporated as special modules placed anywhere between the storage and user interface. In this paper, we consider the solution of implementing masking directly in the persistence layer so that data do not travel unmasked along the network. The data at rest are unchanged (i.e., unmasked), but when users query the database, the sensitive columns in the results are displayed in a masked format, which makes it impossible to identify the original data. Given the diversity of masking features proposed by commercial and open-source database servers, this study proposes a framework for assessing the performance penalty of SQL queries when using database masking relative to the original (unmasking) scenario. We implemented and applied the framework to a basic masking scenario in the Oracle database server using the TPC-H benchmark database. Exploratory analysis and Machine Learning models suggest that DDM has a weak impact on query performance. This could be a powerful incentive for incorporating DDM in real-world software applications when up to 100GB data is stored using Oracle database server.

Cloud Computing is a service oriented computing technology, is allows a group of people to work together and access data resources. Multi privileged Group key management has becoming a big challenging issue in the field of cloud data sharing. We have different group key management protocols which are distributed and centralized. But these protocols have drawbacks of single point of failure and bottleneck performance. Decentralized key management schemes proposed as trade-off between them. This paper proposes a Decentralized key management scheme using alternating multi linear forms for cloud data sharing with dynamic multi privileged groups. This method is to divide large group into many subgroups, each sub group has a group manager. Group manager manages the group, and keys are first distributed to the GM (Group Manger) and then GM can distribute to users in respective groups. The related session keys ought to be updates, if any cloud user needs to join/leave the group and change their privileges. But user joining/leaving the group as often as possible, users will change their entrance benefits called switching between various SGs. The proposed method needs just a single round of transaction for each leaving/Switching activity. This method also supports the dynamic formation and decomposition of Cloud service Groups. The analysis of proposed method is secure and has Reduces the Computational cost compared to existing scheme.

Human genome project is a grand scale scientific work, which aims at measuring three billion base pairs in human chromosomes (haploid). It brings a great challenging task to store and utilize these gene sequences (GS) securely and effectively. With the development of the cloud computing, the storage of gene information can be out of consideration. However, their secure utilization still puzzles data owners and data users. One popular way is to encrypt these GS and construct searchable indexes for secure retrieval. In this paper, we first define and solve the problem of privacy‐preserving outsourced gene data search in encryption domain. We transfer GS into numerical vectors by reasonable mapping for ease of similarity calculation. We employ secure KNN algorithm to encrypt the query, index, and gene data and compute relevance scores securely. We test our scheme through a real‐world dataset: plant GS from National Center of Biotechnology Information. Extensive experiments are conducted to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed scheme.
