Efficient photo–catalytic degradation of malachite green using nickel tungstate material as photo–catalyst

Abstract: The present study focused on the evaluation of photo-catalytic and photo-electrochemical properties of the photo-catalyst based on nickel tungstate material prepared by a nitrate method through the degradation of malachite green (MG) dye's. The effect of catalyst loading and dye concentration was examined. Physico-chemical, optical, electrical, electrochemical, and photo-electrochemical properties of the prepared material were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FTIR),… Show more

“…These reactive oxygen species (ROS) formed in various steps react with MG dye and degrade it into non-toxic organic compounds (8). A similar degradation process of MG dye using nickel tungstate nanomaterial was observed byHelaili et al (2017). Thus, these ROS plays a vital role in the degradation of MG dye.…”

“…It can also improve the regulation ability of body temperature and cardiovascular system and enhance the ability to resist diseases and adapt to environmental changes. It has certain curative effect on low back pain caused by various reasons [12]. At present, the commonly used conventional treatment methods are cold compress, which is suitable for the acute stage of various injuries; wax compress, which is suitable for the repair stage of various injuries; pulse electrotherapy, which was found in the clinical observation of patients with low back pain treated by computer intermediate frequency treatment instrument as early as the nineties, the computer intermediate frequency treatment group has significant curative effect, rapid effect, and good analgesic effect.…”

“…MG is a typical triphenylmethane dye and extensively used in many industries, such as silk, paper, leather, wool, cotton industries, and also as an ectoparasiticide in the aquaculture industry (Yang et al, 2016;Helaïli et al, 2017). Every year, thousands of tons of MG were produced and about 10%-15% were released to the environment (Yan et al, 2014;Hajnajafi et al, 2018).…”

“…Several physicochemical methods have been applied in MG remediation, such as using various adsorbents to remove MG from an aqueous environment (Raval et al, 2017), photocatalytic degradation of MG by various photo-catalysts (Helaïli et al, 2017;Meena et al, 2016), oxidation by Fenton reagent (Nidheesh et al, 2013). However, the main concerns of these physicochemical methods are that they are often costly and can produce secondary pollution.…”
