Efficient peer-to-peer context awareness data forwarding scheme in emergency situations

Abstract: Recently, we usually use these words BEdge of Innovation^. It is caused by deployment of smartphone and various hand-held device including wearable devices. In most cases, the devices can easily communicate with other people or devices, and most of modern IT services are the converged services. These are very common phenomenon even in management of the disaster and safety fields. Generally, the emergency situations involve extreme situations such as a horrible congestion, bottleneck, some damaged infrastructur… Show more

“…However, the S-DTS utilizes a synchronization transmission scheme after the transmission start for providing an efficient data transmission. The concept of proposed S-DTS is fundamentally similar to the concept of S-DTA (Safe Data Transmission Architecture) [Kim and Na (2016)], EPC-DFS (Efficient Peer-to-Peer Context awareness Data Forwarding Scheme) [Kim and Suk (2016)], and ESD-DTS (Efficient Software Defined Data Transmission Scheme) [Kim and Kim (2018)]. Although the S-DTS will be also operates synchronization zones same as the Kim et al [Kim and Na (2016); Kim and Suk (2016); Kim and Kim (2018)], there are 3 different points mainly.…”

“…Most of current communication protocols in the IoT rely on point-to-point connections and are therefore vulnerable to link failures. Many improved solutions including p2p, 1 proxy-oriented, 2 and cloud-based 3,4 approaches were proposed and used with the current Internet, but they cannot resolve the single point of failure problem. We have also seen that the protocol incompatibility of today’s communication networks drives the IoT concept toward a bunch of sparse sensor networks.…”

“…As for the proposed learner activity model, it classifies learning activities in a CSCL system into three categories (vivacity, learning, and relationship) and then creates quotients to represent them accordingly. The paper, by Kim et al [2]., proposes the efficient peer-to-peer context awareness data forwarding scheme based on the devices location in emergency situations. This efficient P2P data forwarding scheme (EP-DFS) can be applied to various fields that are needed for P2P communications and networking.…”
