Abstract:<div>A PEEC formulation is applied to compute Joule losses and currents in the wires composing the screens of the phase conductors in a submarine tripolar cable. In order to model the infinite extent of the cable and to reduce the computational burden, simmetries of the geometry are exploited. A good agreement is obtained with brute force FEM simulations, with a dramatic reduction of computational times and memory requirement.</div>

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
