Efficient H2 evolution on Co3S4/Zn0.5Cd0.5S nanocomposites by photocatalytic synergistic reaction

Abstract: To achieve high photocatalytic efficiency of H2 evolution, promoting the utilization rate of photogenerated charge carriers by photocatalytic synergistic reaction is an efficient strategy. In this work, Co3S4/Zn0.5Cd0.5S nanocomposites with...

“…[1][2][3][4] Although tremendous progress has been made, photocatalysis technology is still restricted by the unsatisfactory performance of the existing photocatalysts. [5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12] To overcome this dilemma, it is essential to design cost-effective and high-performance photocatalysts to achieve efficient H 2 production for practical applications. 13,14 Among various photocatalysts, graphitic carbon nitride (g-C 3 N 4 ) has shown great potential for water splitting under visible light irradiation owing to its environmental friendliness, good physicochemical stability and distinctive electronic properties.…”

“…ZIF-67 was first synthesized by 2-methylimidazole in a typical procedure (Figures S1 and S3a). Then, 0.68 g of ZIF-67 with a purple color was placed in a crucible and annealed at 500 °C (5 °C min –1 ) under N 2 for 2 h. The sample of Co 3 O 4 with polyhedral structure was formed. The obtained Co 3 O 4 precursors and NaH 2 PO 2 were put into a crucible, and NaH 2 PO 2 was placed before Co 3 O 4 from the direction of N 2 flow.…”

“…Zn 0.5 Cd 0.5 S nanoparticles were synthesized by a hydrothermal method. , First, 40 mL of 0.25 mol L –1 Na 2 S·9H 2 O solution (deionized H 2 O as solvent) was slowly added to another 40 mL of water solution, which contained 5 mmol of Zn(Ac) 2 ·2H 2 O and 5 mmol of Cd(NO 3 ) 2 ·4H 2 O. Then, the mixture was stirred for 1 h and transferred into a 100 mL Teflon-lined stainless-steel autoclave, and the temperature was held at 160 °C for 12 h. After cooling naturally, the yellow precipitate was washed several times by centrifugation and dried at 60 °C for 12 h in a vacuum atmosphere.…”
