Efficient catalytic oxidation of alcohol to carbonyl compounds over CoFe hydrotalcites

Abstract: A series of CO32−–CoxFe–LDHs (x = 2, 3, 4 and 5) compounds with different Co/Fe ratios have been prepared, characterized and introduced into the selective oxidation of alcohols by tert-butylhydroperoxide.

“…However, the change in the type of trivalent cation has a greater effect on the adsorption capacity of the material, especially due to the charge imbalance of lamella caused by the substitution, but also by differences in chemical affinity, generally due to variations in the binding properties of the transition metal cations (Bolognini et al, 2002;Obalová et al, 2005;Rao et al, 1998;Rodilla et al, 2015;Zhou et al, 2016;Wu et al, 2008).…”

“…The results of thermal analysis, X-ray diffractometry and infrared spectroscopy show that the composition changes aspects of crystallinity and thermal stability and allowed to clarify how some aspects such as interlamellar hydration and hydroxyl network stability correlate with the presence of cations modifiers. KEYWORDS: anionic clay, LDH, turbostratic effect.
