Efficient and regioselective synthesis of functionalized pyrroles by cyclocondensation of 1,3-dicarbonyl dianions with α-azidoketones

Abstract: The cyclocondensation of 1,3-dicarbonyl dianions with alpha-azidoketones regioselectively afforded 2-alkylidenepyrrolidines which were transformed into functionalized pyrroles by treatment with acid.

“…Investigating the surface and bulk wetting properties of superhydrophobic meshes will be important for potential drug delivery applications43–53 as well as for other industrial applications where time of wetting or loss of the superhydrophobic property is crucial to function. Consequently, characterizing and understanding the superhydrophobic state in a mesh and identifying the advantages and limitations of these materials are critical.…”

“…β-Carbonyl esters are important chemicals widely used in organic synthesis [23][24][25]. The α-H of β-carbonyl esters are acidic due to the electron-withdrawing effects of the two neighboring carbonyl groups [26], and the carbanion thereby formed can undergo nucleophilic substitution.…”
