Efficiency of using heat pumps with various refrigerants in real steam turbine power units with PT-80 and T-250 turbines

Abstract: Prospects for increasing the efficiency of heat and electric energy-generation and heat-and-power supply at thermal power plants obviously draw attention to such modern and innovative technologies as heat pumps. Heat pumps allow efficient redistribution of energy flows. The abundance of low-potential heat carriers and heat sources in the cycle arrangement of the thermal power plants operation requires modernization of production and increase of the fuel heat utilization factor, therefore, reduction of specific… Show more

“…In the Russian Federation, in order to reduce the harmful impact of the produc and energy sectors on the environment, the Federal Law "About Limiting Greenh Gas Emissions" was issued [9]. Such a policy of Russia stimulates research in the fiel using secondary energy resources [10][11][12][13][14], in particular, heat pump units (HPU) [12-By 2020, fossil resources accounted for 96% of the main sources of hydrogen, of w steam reforming of natural gas is about 48% [15]. With the implementation of Net Zero E sions Scenario-the pathway for the global energy sector to achieve net zero CO2 emiss by 2050 [16]-by the International Energy Agency, as hydrogen production increases share of hydrogen produced by electrolysis will increase significantly (Figure 1).…”
