Efficiency of laser systems utilizing short radiation pulses

Abstract: A double perturbation expansion is used to calculate the polarisability of an electron in a Debye-Huckel (Yukawa) potential, in the limit of large screening length D.The polarisability is 4.5 + (22.37510') -(37.625/ D 3 ) . . . . The. dipole shielding factor is found to be 1 + ( 1 / D 2 ) -(1.5/D3). . . . A comparison with recent numerical work is made.
