Efficiency in microfinance: financial and social performance of agricultural credit cooperatives in Bulgaria

Abstract: Efficiency in microfinance requires accounting for a specific ambiguous production goal. Beyond financial performance, microfinance institutions are to be assessed with regard to their social impact.
