Abstract:BACKGROUND : Carpal tunnel syndrome is the most common peripheral nerve entrapment syndrome. The etiology can be hereditary, repetitive movements of the wrist in mechanical workers, injury to the wrist, pregnancy, obesity, metabolic disorders, auto immune conditions such as diabetes mellitus, rheumatoid arthritis and in elderly population.
