An analysis of the economic burden of correction of adverse reactions with long-term amiodarone administration was carried out, which determined the economic feasibility of preventive measures for the development of lung and thyroid pathologies when taking amiodarone, in which one patient independently sought medical care and would need outpatient or inpatient treatment. The calculation takes a period of 1 year. It was found that preventive measures are much cheaper than treatment of an already developed disease. To prevent the development of serious adverse reactions, it is necessary to follow preventive measures, including regular lung examinations and monitoring of thyroid hormones. In some cases, preventive measures can save more than 90% of the cost of treating the developed pathology.
