Abstract: Cancer is the most dreadful disease affecting mankind. The available treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy have cytotoxic effects, which are hazardous to the normal cells of the patient, causing many unnecessary effects. This further leads to complications of the therapy, impaired health, and deterioration of quality of life, resulting in mandatory stoppage of the treatment. “…These findings can be used to develop DSNs for human use. 20 Treatment of cancer patients with herbo-mineral and metallic Ayurvedic drugs has been reported to significantly reduce the toxic effects of chemotherapy on various symptoms, and to have improved QoL, 21 , 22 although no positive effects on hematological parameters could be demonstrated. Various herbal medicines have also been tested in cancer patients treated with chemotherapy, and these have been used to reduce chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, to improve patients’ QoL and to allow their subsequent chemotherapy.…”

“…At early stages, chemotherapy plays a curative role; however, in advanced stages, it has a different position where it could be a palliative or neo-adjuvant modality in various cancers (Alvarado-Miranda et al, 2009;Johnson, Bryant, Miles, Hogberg, & Cornes, 2011;Robati, Holtz, & Dunton, 2008). In addition to conventional chemotherapeutic drugs, emerging novel small molecule inhibitors and targeted drugs have been suggested as a promising way to treat cancer, but severe side effects, high cost, and limited outcomes among patients pose a challenge to establish them as ideal treatment modalities (Özdelikara & Tan, 2017;Vyas, Thakar, Baghel, Sisodia, & Deole, 2010). Moreover, the personalized treatment approach also targets only a subset of a population, but clinical outcomes are still insignificant.…”
