Efficacy of Laser Resurfacing and Facial Plastic Surgery Using Age, Glogau, and Fitzpatrick Rating

Abstract: Background:To assess clinical outcomes based on established rating scales in patients who underwent treatment for rhytids using laser resurfacing with and without facial plastic surgery.Methods:Retrospective case review of 48 patients treated by the senior author (J.E.B) between 2009 and 2016. “…Inclusion criteria included: patients between the ages of 30 and 75 with clinically diagnosed signs of aged skin, presence of slight to moderate facial wrinkles (Glogau's grade I‐II) 14 and that have not been treated with any other cutaneous treatment for six months. Exclusion criteria included: pregnant or lactating patients, with active inflammation in the intervention area, systemic infections, cancerous lesions for five years before the beginning of the treatment, with connective tissue disease or a history of rheumatic disorders, hematological alterations, current treatment with immunosuppressants or anticoagulants, presence of permanent facial implants and allergy to hematological derivatives.…”
