“…Significantly maximum plant height, number of leaves and plant spread may be due to gibberellic acid which has resulted in cell division and cell elongation resulting in enhanced vegetative growth. Similar observation in maximum plant height were also obtained by Dalal et al, (2009) and maximum plant spread at 150ppm were also obtained by Patra et al, (2015) in gerbera (Fig. 1).…”

“…Increase in flower number due to GA 3 treatment may be attributed to the fact that GA 3 enhances induction of flower bud break i.e., differentiation of floral primordial in the apical growing region by GA 3 which leads to the increased production of flower per plant (Singh and Srivastava, 2008). The above results are in conformity with the findings of Kumar et al, (2003) in China aster and Patra et al, (2015) in gerbera. Enhancement of flowering duration under GA 3 treatment could be due to early flower induction as a result of replacement of a part of vernalisation by GA 3 .…”

“…Apart from this CCC also showed the best results in terms of minimum duration for bud initiation T 11 (51.67 days), minimum days to flowering T 11 (65.86 days) and with maximum vase life T 11 (9.00 days). The reason for enhancement of flower size and diameter of flower might be due to increase in length of petals and pedicles and it was caused by drawing photosynthates to the flower as a consequence of intensification of sink it was reported by Sainath et al, (2014) in china aster, Patra et al, (2015) in gerbera and Palei et al, (2016) in African marigold.…”
