“…Our study found a lower clinical and radiographic overall success rate in the Ca(OH) 2 -treated group compared to those of some previous studies, including Tuna and Olmez (2008) and Garrocho-Rangel et al (2009) [11,17]. This may be due to the differing methodologies of these other studies.…”

“…When complete caries removal resulted in a pinpoint pulpal exposure (less than 1 mm in diameter), the exposure and surrounding areas were rinsed with sterile normal saline solution and 2.5 % sodium hypochlorite to remove debris and to disinfect the area. DPC was performed when the appearance of the exposure site was bright red and hemostasis was obtained using a moist cotton pellet with light pressure for 2-3 min [17]. If the pulp was not exposed after completely removing the caries, the tooth was restored and the patient was excluded from the study.…”

“…39 EMD, kalsiyum hidroksit ile benzer şekilde etki etmekte hatta kalsiyum hidroksitten daha etkili olduğu saptanmıştır. Bütün bu sonuçlardan sonra EMD'nin kalsiyum hidroksit gibi kliniklerde vital pulpa tedavilerinde kullanılabileceği saptanmıştır.…”

“…99 A commercial preparation, Emdogain (Straumann), containing amelogenin and an amelin protein-rich fraction in a gel form, has been clinically compared with good success to calcium hydroxide as direct pulp-capping agents in primary teeth. 116 The vast array of bioactive molecules that either have been shown to be or that may be involved in pulp and dentin repair have been reviewed by numerous authors (see Goldberg and Smith 10 and Goldberg et al 117 as examples).…”
