Efficacy of Cosmetic Formulations Containing Dispersion of Liposome with Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Alpha‐Lipoic Acid and Kinetin

Abstract: The present study aimed to evaluate the photoprotective effects of cosmetic formulations containing a dispersion of liposome with magnesium ascorbyl phosphate (MAP), alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) and kinetin, as well as their effects on the hydration and viscoelastic skin properties. The photoprotection was determined in vitro (antioxidant activity) and in vivo on UV-irradiated hairless mouse skin. The hydration effects were performed with the application of the formulations under study on the forearm of human volun… Show more

“…In addition to the regulatory functions in plants, kinetin has also showed strong anti-ageing activity on different animal targets, such as fruit flies [3], or human dermal cells [4], [5]. These positive effects led to the commercial application of kinetin in rejuvenating medicinal cosmetics [6], [7].…”

“…As shown in Fig. 4, the cumulative permeation rate of GA in the solution was faster than both liposomes, while the nonmodified liposomes were nearly the same as the PEG-modified ones in the first 24 h and a little faster in the last 24 h, this may related to the controlled release properties of liposomes [25,26].…”

“…ALA's ability to inhibit apoptosis of endothelial cells could beneficially affect endothelial dysfunction, which accompanies the aging manifestations. Photo‐protective effect as well as pronounced hydration effect on the skin induced by an ALA‐containing formulation could add to its efficacy …”
