“…The Rhealba\xAE Oat plantlet extract contains immumomodulatory saponins and anti‐inflammatory flavonoids which inhibit the production of inflammatory mediators (including IL‐1α, IL‐1β and TNF‐α), downregulate the effects of histocompatibility complex class II molecules on dendritic cells and stimulate keratinocyte proliferation and skin barrier repair 14,16,18,22 . This extract has previously been shown to be effective in subjects with inflammatory skin diseases or who have undergone skin resurfacing 15,17,18,22 . Uncaria tomentosa extract, which contains the active ingredients proanthocyanins, 23 has shown significant efficacy on a broad range of receptors involved in nociceptive pathways 20 .…”

“…Use of emollients reduces the requirement for topical corticosteroids, which is particularly beneficial in elderly patients, in whom they can cause further thinning of the skin as well as impairment of the immune response . The antipruritic effect of 2‐week treatment with a Rhealba Oat extract‐based emollient (Xeramega Confort ® , A‐Derma, Pierre Fabre) was demonstrated in a study involving 30 French outpatients aged ≥60 years with chronic pruritus . At the end of 2 weeks of treatment, more than half of the subjects reported an improvement in pruritus, and 30% reported complete disappearance, whereas pruritus remained stable during a 2‐week non‐treatment phase.…”
