Efficacy assessment of metalloporphyrins as functional materials for photodetection applications: role of central tetrapyrrole metal ions

Abstract: Despite the continued research, it is still not entirely clear how important characteristics of metalloporphyrins are exploited for optoelectronic applications. Consequently, the stimulant aim for this work is to design and implement organic/inorganic heterojunctions based on metalloporphyrins (CuTPP, NiTPP, FeTPPCl, and MnTPPCl)/n-Si and evolve their photodetection performance. To evaluate the performance variation of variously manufactured photodetectors, structural characterizations using XRD, Raman spectro… Show more

“…The O 1s XPS peaks at 530.9 and 532 eV (Figure S4B) suggests that the AgNP/Cu-TCPP MOF has both C and Cu-related oxygen, especially the oxygen of C=O, C–OH groups. The N 1s XPS scans (Figure S4C) suggest spectral features at ∼398.5 and ∼399.5 eV , corresponding to strong binding of nitrogen with carbon (C–N) and Cu (Cu–N) for protonated and nonprotonated nitrogen atoms of porphyrin. , Figure E depicting the high-resolution XPS scan of Ag 3d shows well-resolved strongly intense peaks at binding energies ∼366 and ∼372 eV corresponding to the Ag 3d 3/5 and Ag 3d 3/2 states of the silver incorporated into the Cu-TCPP MOF . The high-resolution Cu 2p XPS scans of the AgNP/Cu-TCPP MOF (Figure F) show peaks at binding energies ∼933.3 and 953 eV attributable to the Cu + 2p 3/2 and Cu 2+ 2p 1/2 states. ,, …”
