Effects of ZnO on the piezoelectric properties of Pb (Mn1/3 Sb 2/3 )O 3 -Pb(Zr,Ti)O 3 Ceramics

Show more

“…This is in good accordance with the microstructure (Figure 4). It is said that formation of the pyrochlore phase may be due to the steric and electrostatic interaction between the high polarization of the Pb 2+ cation and the B-sites cation (Zn +2 , Nb +5 ) [24,27,31].…”

“…We also attempted decreasing sintering temperatures from 1150 to 930°C, which significantly improved the electrical properties of the ceramics. In these ceramics, Li 2 CO 3 is considered as a liquid-phase sintering aid [5,21,24]. The addition of Li 2 CO 3 improved the sinterability of the Bi 0.5 (Na 0.8 K 0.2 ) 0.5 TiO 3 ceramic samples and caused an increase in the density and grain size at a sintering temperature of 1100°C [19].…”

“…c/a ratio variation) and material composition dependence, which affects the Curie point and dielectric Tables 2-4 are similar to our reported paper 12 and other related literatures. 15,16 To investigate the frequency dispersion, the dielectric constant as a function of the temperature, at different frequency, for x = 0.1 specimens shown in Fig. 6.…”

“…15 Yoon et al showed that ZnO could increase the piezoelectric voltage output coefficient and piezoelectric charge constant. 16 Rubio-Marcos et al investigated the effect of ZnO on structural evolutions and electrical properties for the lead-free (K,Na,Li)(Nb,Ta,Sb)O 3 system. 17 However, these studies seldom refer to the probability of ZnO dopants entered the A and/or B-site of the perovskite structure, affecting the dielectric relaxation, activation energy, and piezoelectric properties of low-temperature sintered piezoelectric ceramics.…”

“…ZnO has been widely used as a sintering aid for dielectric and piezoelectric ceramics. [7][8][9][10] As demonstrated previously, the addition of ZnO could promote the formation of a liquid phase which expedited mass transfer during a sintering process, resulting in an enhancement of density, grain size as well as electrical properties of ceramics. 11,12 Moreover, ZnO was also used as a substituent for both lead-based solid solution ferroelectric ceramics, that is, Pb(Mg 1/3 Nb 2/3 ) 0.9 Ti 0.1 O 3 , 13 Pb 15 and lead-free ferroelectric ceramics, that is, Bi 0.5 Na 0.5 TiO 3 16,17 and (Na 0.5 K 0.5 )NbO 3 .…”
