Abstract:We theoretically model two-dimensional waveguides with different surface perturbations and examine the effects of these perturbations on the transmission of light with wavelengths in visible and IR parts of the spectrum. Surface perturbations are modelled as sine, square and triangular waves with different amplitudes and periods, and as volumetric fractal-voronoi noise with different amplitudes and at different length scales. We use refractive indices which are characteristic for soft matter and solid-state ph… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
