Effects of Water on the Morphology of Wool Scales

Abstract: The aim of this study was to investigate the water effects on the scales behavior through experiments and observation by SFM and AFM. For this purpose, a detailed investigation on the role of water, PH, and treat time were investigated. After this, a model was built to discuss the swelling and upward of the wet scales. For the scales is the element factor for shrinking, so this study is of great significance to the work of shrinkproofing.
