Effects of thermal ageing on thermoluminescence of an epoxy resin composition

Abstract: Thermal ageing of Epidian-2 epoxy resin results in quenching and decrease in energetic depth of dopant thermoluminescence (TL) centres. The existing correlation between the depths or TL centres and the contents of methylene and methyl groups suggests that these groups are the cause of the dopant TL peaks. The SiO, filler exhibits catalytic effects and restricts the formation of methylene and methyl groups in the resin.
