Effects of the nursing intervention Fall prevention in older adults with arterial hypertension using NANDA‐I, NIC, and NOC

Abstract: Purpose: To measure the effects of the NIC intervention fall prevention on the magnitude of the NANDA-I Risk for falls' risk factors and of NOC indicators related to falls in older adults with arterial hypertension. Background: Nurses can use nursing taxonomies to provide effective care in preventing falls in specific populations. Methods: Clinical, randomized, open, parallel, and multicenter trial following the CON-SORT recommendations for nonpharmacological trials. The clinical trial was registered. The rese… Show more

“…Under the situation that the SNL is incorporated into Korea's current data collection system, quality improvement could be accomplished. The generated electronic health record system may build scientific nursing knowledge, thus reducing inappropriate costs (Fennelly et al., 2021; Moreira et al., 2022; Rossi et al., 2022).…”

“…NNN linkages have been studied across health settings, including acute settings (Kim, 2005;Noh & Lee, 2015;Park, 2014), community settings (Aleandri et al, 2022;Almasalha et al, 2013;Erdogan & Esin, 2006;Kerr et al, 2016;Monsen & Newsom, 2011), home care (Azzolin et al, 2013), and long-term care settings (Johnson et al, 2012;Shin et al, 2020). In terms of the population studied, NNN linkages have been studied for patients with gastrectomy (Park et al, 2009), abdominal surgery (Yoo & Ji, 2001), spinal cord injury (Hughes, 2003), chronic disease (Aleandri et al, 2022;Minthorn & Lunney, 2012), chemotherapy (Song et al, 2014), heart failure (Azzolin et al, 2013), and fall prevention for patients with arterial hypertension (Moreira et al, 2022). For two NANDA-Is of fall risk, the NNN linkages for NH residents at risk of falls (Lucena et al, 2019) validated 13 different nursing outcomes from the NOC and eight different nursing interventions from the NIC.…”

“…As front‐line practitioners with around‐the‐clock patient contact, nurses can give valuable information about the patient's healthcare environment (Innab, 2022). Nurses play an essential role in identifying, intervening, and assessing problems that may result in falls (Moreira et al., 2022). Nursing methodology is the process of solving daily care problems in a systematic manner.…”
