“…A progressive dose-dependent suppression of LH and FSH was observed while the addition of a progestin dramatically increased the magnitude of gonadotrophin inhibition (Goldzieher et al, 1975). Later, s.c. E 2 implants (Magos et al, 1987) and E 2 transdermal patches (Watson et al, 1988) were also shown to be able to suppress ovulation.
