Effects of Single and Blended Coating Pigments on the Inkjet Image Quality of Dye Sublimation Transfer Printed Paper: SiO2, CaCO3, Talc, and Sericite

Abstract: In this study, we investigated the effects on the image quality of CaCO3, SiO2, talc, and sericite on coated inkjet paper. The papers serve as dye sublimation transfer paper for printing on fabrics. The brightness, smoothness, and contact angle of the coated papers were evaluated. The papers were then printed with a textile color image evaluation test form, and the imprinted images were evaluated with respect to six criteria of the solid ink density, tone value increase, print contrast, ink trapping, grayness,… Show more

“…However, the surface colour of the base paper coated with TiO 2 was dull after printing. Lin et al (Lin et al 2016) used a coating with PVA, along with the incorporation of four pigments with different morphologies, namely, CaCO 3 , SiO 2 , talc, and sericite. SiO 2 was more suitable for surface coating owing to its smaller particle size, larger speci c surface area and higher light scattering coe cient (Kentta et al 2013).…”

“…Figure 2: Sequential evolution of Grey Relational Analysis (GRA) equations 12 In 1982, the Grey System was conceived for the first time. In 1989, Deng Julong introduced the Grey Relationship Analysis (GRA) statistical method 17 . In addition to its many applications, this theory is also efficiently used to decision making, grey target models, control systems and models 18 and this idea has been effectively used in a variety of fields, including education, business, manufacturing, electronic equipment, and mechanical engineering, among others 19 .…”

“…paper, textiles, and walls. Sublimation heat transfer printing is considered one of the most important, cleanest, and newest styles of printing 2 . This simple printing method has a number of desirable features, such as reduced need for energy and water, no need for post treatment, cheap printing technique, lower maintenance and equipment investment, and an effluent-free method in addition to producing a clear and environmentally clean image 3 , 4 .…”
