“…The effect of testosterone on cortisol, however, appears to be confined to stimulated levels, as no difference in either basal cortisol or UFC was observed across the induced hormonal conditions. Using dispersed inner adrenocortical cells, Nowak et al (1995) showed that testosterone inhibited ACTH-stimulated but not basal corticosterone output in vitro.
