“…Combustion duration of this engine was short for medium engine speed conditions, which was consistent with Luo's research [38] where the combustion duration of a hydrogen fuelled turbocharged engine over 2000 RPM was slightly shorter than that of 1500 RPM. The combustion duration in the authors' work was shorter than reciprocating engines and Wankel engines fuelled with gasoline [58,59], which was mainly caused by hydrogen flame propagation speed. It was supported by the research based on a Wanke engine [59] that gasoline/hydrogen blends were burned out in 50º CA; however, it was more than 150º CA for gasoline fuel.…”

“…A decline in NO x and CO emissions and an improvement in combustion stability were noticed. Shi et al 34 . showed that a small quantity of 20% of dimethyl ether added to gasoline could enhance the inflammation strength of spark ignition engines.…”

“…A decline in NO x and CO emissions and an improvement in combustion stability were noticed. Shi et al 34 showed that a small quantity of 20% of dimethyl ether added to gasoline could enhance the inflammation strength of spark ignition engines. An examination by Lee et al 35 established that mixing liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and DME increased engine load ranges.…”

“…Variable fuel injection timing leads to a significant impact on the fuel spray, mixture formation, combustion, and emission characteristics of diesel engines, thus affecting the power output, economy, and emission performance. 1517 Sayin and Canakci experimentally studied the effect of injection timing on the performance and emission characteristics of a naturally aspirated, single-cylinder diesel engine. 18 Their results showed that compared with the initial injection timing, advancing or delaying injection timing are not conducive to the brake thermal efficiency and brake specific fuel consumption of the engine.…”
