Effects of Reinforcement Schedules on Preferences and Variability of Responses in Laboratory Rats

Abstract: Regardless of reinforcement schedule (CRF, FR-4, VR-4) during training on a single manipulandum, transfer to a multiple-manipulandum situation under CRF showed no schedules effect. Of the transfer devices, the chain was preferred by most Ss. Individual differences were marked and probably account for the discrepancy between these results and those with children.
