“…5). For the glass 30Zn41P, there is no evidence of crystallization of KMg(PO 3 ) 3 and CaMgP 2 O 7 compounds, but apart from the formation of K 2 ZnP 2 O 7 , the appearance of magnesium-rich metaphosphate of Mg 2 P 4 O 12 type was detected.…”

“…The XRD study of the base glass with phosphate matrix (0Zn41P) (Table 3) showed that the crystallization products of the glass are polyphosphate compounds composed of KMg(PO 3 ) 3 and CaMgP 2 O 7 . The type of the formed phosphate networks conforms to the structural classification of phosphate glasses based on the O/P ratio [37].…”

“…After fs-laser modification the modified regions were tested for optical guiding and characterized with confocal fluorescence (FL) and Raman spectroscopy. Detailed descriptions about the experimental procedures can be found elsewhere [1][2][3][4].…”

“…Phosphate glasses, which are of interest as host materials for active devices since they allow incorporation of high concentrations of rare earth ions, typically produce negative refractive index changes in the laser-exposed regions. We have recently found that good quality waveguides can be fabricated in zinc polyphosphate glass compositions with an O/P ratio close to 3.25 [1][2][3][4]. This paper summarizes the effects of glass composition on fs-laser induced structural modification as well as the fabrication of active devices in zinc phosphate glasses.…”
