“…The DGWs who were unaware of this job risk factor, shoulder biomechanics, and benefits of shoulder muscle strengthening exercises, may present with shoulder WMSS. Serra et al [37] indicated that physical exercise helped to reduce the risk of WMSS in a (Brazilian) workplace when compared with workers who did not engage in physical exercise and opined that exercise prepares workers against strenuous musculoskeletal demands. Workers should have a recreational period when they can engage in muscles-specific structured (resistant) exercises.…”

“…In this study, the police officers that practiced physical activity reported less occupational stress than participants that did not. Physical activity can decrease stress because people who practice it display lower cortisol levels, better heart rate response, more calmness and less frequent anxiety states than people who do not practice it, suggesting that physical activity may produce a protective effect against diseases related to occupational stress [31][32][33] .…”

“…Some studies have demonstrated the efficacy of physical exercise in workers’ musculoskeletal symptoms, but not in psychosocial aspects such as stress. 7 , 9 Yoga has been shown to be useful in musculoskeletal pain because it increases flexibility, demonstrates to patients that they can remain active despite the pain, eases the mind and helps with concentration, increases consciousness, decreases anxiety and anguish, and improves the mood. Regarding stress, yoga was demonstrated to be as effective as relaxation, cognitive-behavioral therapy, or dancing, 26 which indicates that its effects are not limited to those provided by the physical activity.…”
