Effects of nonideal optical‐fiber equalization

Abstract: Effects of nonideal‐fiber equalization are analyzed in terms of a sensitivity parameter ζ, defined as where αout is the RMS width of the output pulse and θ is a parameter that represents the deviation of the actual transfer function from the ideal one. The dependence of that parameter on the width of the predistorted signal is given, along with its dependence on the mismatch factor θ. © 1993 John Wiley & sons, Inc.
