“…A further randomised trial, again comparing meals eaten at 8 AM to 8 PM, compared a high‐protein/low‐carbohydrate to a low‐protein/high‐carbohydrate test meal, and although no differences in insulin response were observed, the high‐protein/low‐carbohydrate meal elicited a lower postprandial glucose response at night compared to the low‐protein/high‐carbohydrate meal; however, the postprandial glucose response was higher compared to either test meal consumed during the morning (Davis et al, 2019).
