Effects of low‐power laser radiation on mice immunity

Abstract: Low-power laser irradiation showed more effective immunomodulatory effects when applied on the thymus projection area. The rise in IL-2 and Hsp70 production related to a short-term effect of laser application may be reversed after repeating laser treatment. We suggest that for the support of immune system stability, the prolonged laser therapy should be accompanied by supplementary methods.

“…As the viruses rapidly proliferates at this stage, and laser increases the synthesis of ATP and nucleic acids in viruses, the use of laser is not recommended in this stage 19 . On the other hand, one should bear in mind that the immune system is also under the influence of the laser 17,20 . Some authors suggest that immune cells against the HSV-1 virus are also proliferating, and they are active against a viral infection 21,22 .…”

“…18 Pošto virusi u ovoj fazi ubrzano proliferišu, a laser povećava sintezu ATPa i nukleinskih kiselina u virusima, preporučeno je da se u ovoj fazi laser ne koristi 19 . Sa druge strane, ne treba zaboraviti da se imuni sistem takođe nalazi pod uticajem lasera 17,20 . Neki autori sugerišu da imune ćelije protiv HSV-1 virusa takođe proliferišu i aktivne su protiv virusne infekcije 21,22 .…”

“…The initial molecular absorption of laser light is still unknown and, depending on the wavelength, the effects are changed due to the different chromophores which can be available as photoreceptors. It is likely that the process of photomodulation is only one among many photosignaling phenomena 33 . Figures 1A and 1C show that the complex IV and SDH activity did not change after laser treatment.…”

“…In vitro, LLLI has been reported to stimulate proliferation of a variety of cell systems including fibroblasts, endothelial cells, and keratinocytes; augment collagen synthesis in fibroblasts [14][15][16]; and modulate release of factors that influence inflammation [17][18][19][20][21][22].…”
