Abstract:Intermittent fasting (IF) is a dietary modification involving fasting for 16 to 18 hours per day while eating over the remaining 6‐ to 8‐hour period. Intermittent fasting allows the body to use fat as the main energy source due to a decreased intake of glucose during the fasting period often promoting weight loss.
