“…Na compreensão das múltiplas conexões entre estes dois sistemas, diferentes abordagens experimentais têm sido relevantes para estabelecer, criteriosamente, as vias neuroanatômicas, neuroquímicas e neuroendócrinas envolvidas com essa relação bidirecional. Evidências experimentais advindas de estudos "in vitro" e "in vivo" têm reportado que estados emocionais, como o estresse e a ansiedade (ALVES; VISMARI; MORGULIS et al, 2004;PALERMO-NETO et al, 2008;SA-ROCHA et al, 2006); bem como substâncias químicas de ação central, como por exemplo os benzodiazepínicos (DE PAULA, 2009;LAZZARINI et al, 2003;LAZZARINI et al, 2010;SAKAI et al, 2006;SAKAI et al, 2010) os psicoestimulantes (LIGEIRO DE OLIVEIRA et al, 2004;LIGEIRO DE OLIVEIRA et al, 2008;) e a picrotoxina (STANKEVICIUS et al, 2008) interferem na atividade do sistema imunológico de animais de laboratório. Neste sentido, as drogas de abuso detêm a capacidade de alterar diversos aspectos da função do sistema inunológico, atuando diretamente em células ou órgãos imunes e/ou indiretamente por meio de vias neuroimunes, influenciando o início, o curso e o tratamento de doenças severas, em especial, da asma (LIGEIRO DE OLIVEIRA, 2008;RIETVELD;EVERAERD;CREER, 2000).…”
