Abstract:Mikania micrantha (Compositae) is one of the world忆s most aggressive weeds and is responsible for substantial damage caused to natural ecosystems and biodiversity in South china. A new virus infecting Mikania micrantha, designated Mikania micrantha wilt virus (MMWV) , belongs to a third subgroup of the genus Fabavirus and represents a distinct new isolate of Gentian mosaic virus (GeMV).
