Abstract:The gravitational interaction is ubiquitous and the effect of gravitational particle production necessarily contributes to the dark matter abundance. A simple candidate of dark matter is a scalar particle, whose only renormalizable interaction is the Higgs portal coupling. We show that the abundance of Higgs portal dark matter is significantly affected by the gravitational production effect. In particular, the gravitational production from the coherently oscillating inflaton field during the reheating often gi… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
