Effects of foundation mass on dynamic responses of beams subjected to moving oscillators

Abstract: This paper aims at the effects of foundation mass on the dynamic responses of beams subjected to moving oscillators. To achieve this aim, experiments were performed for a beam resting on the foundation considering effects of the foundation model including linear elastic spring, shear layer, viscous damping. In addition, special effects of mass density of foundation during vibration were established to obtain the characteristic parameter of the influence of foundation mass based on natural circular frequency of… Show more

“…One of the key factors affecting the performance of the approach slab subjected to traffic loads is the condition of the embankment soil (Deng and Cai, 2010;Nguyen et al, 2020). In the first analysis, the effect of the soil stiffness is investigated through the elastic modulus of the soil.…”

“…According to the previous experience of foundation design [15,16], an integral block foundation for punching press was designed, as shown in Figure 5, with a size of 2.8 m × 2.8 m × 1.4 m. e bottom layer of the foundation was concrete, and the main layer was composed of concrete with the scale of 1 : 1.5 : 3. e foundation bolt was installed in the main layer of the secondary poured concrete to connect the punch base, and the total depth of the foundation was 1.40 m. For the reason that the anchor screw and shockproof pad shown in Figure 5 only account for very small part, components of the foundation were set as a whole rigid body, during the establishment of the multidomain model of the punching press system. e No.…”

“…Currently, computer methods (FEM and others [33][34][35]) allow consideration of the ground inertia, as well as the mass, speed, and acceleration of the vehicle in complex engineering structures. However, these are approximate methods and require verification and validation.…”
