Effects of foliar feeding under different soil fertilization conditions on the yield structure and quality of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.)

Abstract: A b s t r a c tThe aim of the study was to analyse foliar feeding of winter wheat cv. 'Kobra' in combination with different soil fertilization treatments with calcium and magnesium compounds. The foliar fertilizers INSOL PK + 5% urea solution and EKO-SOL U were applied 3 times during the during the growing season in four soil fertilization treatments: control without fertilization, NPK, NPK + MgSO 4 × 7H 2 O, and NPK + CaO + MgO. The investigations involved a 3-year field experiment established on medium soil … Show more

“…As a result, experimental factors were either impacted or remained neutral in regard to the above. Previous findings revealed that foliar supplementation during grain formulation contributed to protein and gluten content in wheat grain [75,76]. In our study, however, foliar supplementation with Zn, Mn and K did not affect either the protein or the gluten content.…”

“…The studies by Chwil (2016) and Jankowski et al (2016a) confirm a significant increase (by 10%) of rape seed yield after the application of foliar fertilization compared to the control (without foliar fertilization). Wenda-Piesik and Hoppe (2018) show the validity of using high-input technology in the winter oilseed rape cultivation taking into account autumn and spring foliar fertilization.…”

“…The study by Wenda-Piesik and Hoppe (2018) demonstrated a beneficial effect of high-input technology of winter oilseed rape cultivation with autumn foliar fertilization on wintering of plants. Chwil (2016) confirms that foliar fertilizers increase the number of pods set, but they do not differentiate the winter oilseed rape plant density before harvesting. Jankowski et al (2016b) the foliar application of B significantly increased the number of seeds per pod by 4%.…”

“…A tendency was noticed for a higher number of spikes per square meter on a field fertilized with growing nitrogen and magnesium doses. Researches Chwil (2014) shows that more spikes number winter wheat from the surface unit was recorded from objects with magnesium fertilized but was not a significant difference. The number of grains in a spike was significantly conditioned by the nitrogen fertilisation level.…”
