“…Grafting of CNTs onto CFs could also be achieved by chemical reaction between the pre-modified functional groups on the surfaces of both CNTs and CFs [7,8]. The electrophoresis technique could be used [9][10][11], where CNTs were uniformly deposited on the surface of carbon fiber fabric from the CNT dispersion in an applied electric field.…”

“…3, the ox-MWCNTs with the COOH groups still remain enough negative charge at pH 3 (zeta potential -15 mV). In our case, it can be explained that the increase in roughness at lower pH is due to the increased positive charge of GF-NH 2 and the Comparing with other deposition methods of CNTmodified fibers by EPD [27,28] or sizing agent [23], the surface morphologies we obtained were much more compact and uniform. The result may be attributed to the stable dispersion of ox-MWCNTs solution and the strong electrostatic interaction under certain assembly pH.…”

“…It has been demonstrated that the ability of the deposition of CNTs onto the CF surface enhances the interfacial properties. As a result, a variety of surface treatments of CF have been utilized to incorporate CNTs onto the surface of CF such as sizing agents containing CNTs, [17,18] chemical grafting, [19,20] electrophoretic deposition [21,22], and chemical vapor deposition (CVD). [23,24] Among these methods, sizing agents containing CNTs show obvious advantages for practical applications such as simplicity and flexibility.…”
