Effects of Different Tillage Methods on Bacterial Community and Enzyme Activity of Rhizosphere of Flue-Cured Tobacco in Yunnan Mountains

Abstract: The microbial activity and soil enzyme activity are closely related to soil ecological functions. In this study, a flue-cured tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) variety, K326, was planted and subjected to tillage methods of 20 cm of rotary tillage (control, RT20), 30 cm of deep tillage (DT30), 30 cm (ST30) and 40 cm (ST40) of subsoiling tillage. The expression profiling was conducted using Illumina MiSeq high-throughput sequencing, and the changes of bacterial community structure and enzyme activity in the rhizospher… Show more

“…Soil microbial communities are influenced by multiple factors such as plant type, climate, soil properties and agricultural practice (Bowen et al, 2017). The results of this study also confirm this point, the fungal communities in the rhizosphere soils of the Jiuxiang and Yuxi experimental sites were distributed on both sides of the PC2 axis, and the distance between them was relatively great, indicating that there was a large difference in the fungal communities at the two experimental sites due to the differences in physical and chemical soil properties, climatic and cultivation management measures (Zhang et al, 2016;Tong et al, 2021). But it is worth noting that the fungal community compositions in rhizosphere soils from diseased and healthy plants in the two experimental plots showed the same trends.…”

“…Penicillium participates in the decomposition of organic matter, promotes the cycling of C, N, P and other elements, and degrades a variety of environmentally harmful substances (Luo et al, 2016). Purpureocillium lavendulum is an important nematode biocontrol fungi (Tong et al, 2021).…”

“…Soil microorganisms participate in organic matter transformation, nutrient cycling and fertility formation of soil (Teng et al, 2022;Chen et al, 2022). Their community structure and richness are important indicators for evaluating soil quality, and also play an important role in crop yield (Li et al, 2019;Tong et al, 2021). Due to the vital role of soil microorganisms in driving the organic matter cycle, improving soil quality, improving crop yield and sustainable agricultural development, it has received much attention in soil ecological studies (Tong et al, 2021;Ren et al, 2022).…”

“…The application of microbial agents provides a new method of soil improvement that is expected to accelerate straw decomposition, promote nutrient release, increase land productivity, reduce costs, simplify operations, and prevent secondary pollution [11,12]. Soil quality is determined by the structure and richness of soil microorganisms, which play a critical role in crop production [13,14]. Therefore, this new approach has received extensive attention in soil ecological research [15][16][17].…”
