Effects of different processing methods on five main chemical constituents of Anemarrhena asphodeloides Bge. studied by high performance liquid chromatography

Abstract: A high performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method has been developed for the simultaneous determination of neomangiferin, mangiferin, timosaponin B III, anemarrhenasaponin I and timosaponin A III in the products of Anemarrhena asphodeloides Bge. processed by different methods. By comparing and analyzing the variation of the contents of the five components, the effects of processing on chemical constituents of Anemarrhena asphodeloides Bge. were explored, which provided evidences for the relevance between… Show more

“…In recent studies, the chemical compositions of SAR were found to markedly different from those of its crude materials. But the differential chemical components before and after processing were explained separately from the type or content 8–10 . Previous studies focused on the changes in chemical composition and efficacy of different processed products of AR.…”

“…But the differential chemical components before and after processing were explained separately from the type or content. [8][9][10] Previous studies focused on the changes in chemical composition and efficacy of different processed products of AR. However, it was difficult to find a corresponding relationship between the differential components and effects.…”

“…However, crude herbs should be properly processed before it can be used for their specified applications in clinic. The processing of AR has a long history and various excipients, such as rice wine, salt solution, and wheat bran, which have been traditionally used in different areas of China . Among these, salt processing by stir heating with salt solution is the most widely used method.…”
