Abstract: Hypercholesterolemia is a major risk factor for cardiovascular disease. Fish intake is associated with lower risk of cardiovascular disease, whereas supplementation with n-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFA) has little effect on the cholesterol concentration.
