Effects of Dairy Farm’s Wastewater Irrigation on Wheat Production and Soil Health

Abstract: An experiment was conducted at the experimental field of the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) to investigate the effects of dairy farm's wastewater irrigation on wheat (Triticum aestivum cv. BARI "Shatabdi") production and soil health during 30 November 2013 through 22 March 2014. Three irrigation and three fertilizer treatments were involved in the experiment. The experiment was laid down in a split-plot design with three replications of the treatments. Various growth and yield data of the crop were r… Show more

“…The combination between raw wastewater irrigation and full dose fertilizer also caused a significant difference in soil P content and added more P in the irrigated soils. The effect of interactions between irrigation and fertilizer treatments on soil quality in a wheat field was studied by Islam et al (2015), and our recorded result was almost similar with their experimental result.…”

“…quality are vital for ensuring agricultural efficiency, safeguarding health, and revealing geological aspects of the subsurface water (Shariot-Ullah et al, 2016;Amalraj and Pius, 2018;Nemčić-Jurec et al, 2019). The accessibility of ample, highquality water is crucial for sustainable water management in sectors such as agriculture, industry, and domestic usage (Islam et al, 2015;Islam et al, 2017a, Das et al, 2018Rana et al, 2019;Vijai and Khan, 2021;Jalil et al, 2022). Groundwater quality is influenced by the geological characteristics of the soil and rock within the saturated zone (Tiwari et al, 2018).…”
