Abstract: Background. Corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL) therapy, a method that uses a combination of riboflavin and ultraviolet-A light (UVA), can promote the formation of covalent cross-linking of amino acid residues of corneal collagen and enhance the hardness of the cornea.
