Effects of clonidine premedication on perioperative hemodynamic response, anesthetic requirements and postoperative analgesia for patients undergoing laparoscopic gynecological surgeries: A randomized study

Abstract: The creation of carbon dioxide (CO) pneumoperitoneum is frequent in laparoscopy, but has significant effect on the cardiopulmonary function of the patient. Clonidine by its central sympatholytic action reduces perioperative hemodynamic instability and has several advantages in the postoperative period, hence we consider it to be an effective premedication to contain the stress response to intubation and laparoscopy.
