Even when CLIL is offered within a public school system, such as in Finland (Aro & Mikkilä‐Erdmann, 2015), Germany (Broca, 2016), the Netherlands (Denman, Tanner, & de Graaff, 2013), Norway (Brevik, Doetjes, Bakken, et al., 2020), and Spain (Pastor, 2015), students in CLIL programs are generally more motivated, have a higher SES, and have parents who are more involved in their children's schoolwork than non‐CLIL students (Aro & Mikkilä‐Erdmann, 2015; Doiz, Lasagabaster, & Sierra, 2014; Feddermann, Möller, & Baumert, 2021; Pérez Cañado, 2020; Van Mensel et al., 2020).
