Abstract:Sulfate reducing bacteria (SRB) are considered as one of the main causes for the failures of buried metal pipes. Although many researchers reported that more negative cathodic protection potential was required in environments containing SRB, SRB would increase the concentration of hydrogen adsorbed on steel surface and thus lead to hydrogen embrittlement. In the study, the optimum cathodic protection (CP) potentials of X70 steel in bacterial and sterile media were evaluated with electrochemical impedance spect… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
