“…This mechanism stimulates lymphocytes, dendritic cells, and granulocytes, including the recruitment of neutrophils, resulting in acute inflammation. Pathologically for pneumonia, desert dust particles enhance the neutrophil number dose-dependently, as well as the expression of cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, IL-12, IFN-γ, TNF-α) and chemokines (KC, MCP-1, MCP-3, MIP-1α) in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid [138,[145][146][147][148].
